 WOMEN’S CLUB CARD PARTY
This year’s Card Party will be here soon (March 19) and we need your help in getting donations for our “grab bags”. If you or your employer can donate 200-500 items for the grab bags, it would be a great help. We are looking for items such as pens, pencils, chip clips, pads of paper, magnets, etc.. It is an excellent way for a company to get free advertising. If you can donate any items, please contact the office at 937-5920, ext. 12. If you are unable to drop them off at the church office, arrangements will be made to pick them up. Thanks for your help.

 CAKE DONATIONS FOR CARD PARTY
We will need cakes for the Card Party being held at Columbine Gym on March 19th. There will also be a basket in the back of both church sites on the weekend of March 6 and 7 for your cash donations. Please be generous as this is a great money making function for our church. Thanks. Any questions, please call the church office, 937-5920.

LENT - A TIME FOR PRAYER AND REFLECTION

Each Wednesday during Lent an Ecumenical service, followed by a luncheon, will be held at Noon at the Deering Road campus. Donations for lunch are given to Southwest Community Ministries; the need for financial assistance in our area is greater than ever. Please consider attending these inspirational services, have a great lunch and support Southwest Community Ministries all at the same time. Bring a friend and enjoy a these services during the time of Lent.

SUNDAYS IN LENT
The Sundays of Lent are not like the other days of the season of Lent. Every Sunday of the year, including the six Sundays of Lent, is a celebration of the  resurrection of the Lord, a “Little Easter”. That is why the Church does not expect its members to fast on Sundays. Sundays are still part of the Lenten season, but they are like “oases” along the way, times to rest a bit and to spend some additional time with the Lord in prayer.

Good and loving God, each year you give us this season of Lent to turn our hearts and minds back to you. May the prayer we offer during this season draw us closer to you in love as we seek forgiveness for our sins.  May our fasting help us see that even as this world is a gift from you it is still passing away and will not endure. May our almsgiving honor you as we care for our brothers and sisters whose need is great and whose hope is in you. Help us in this holy season to be reconciled with you and with any whom we have harmed so that we may celebrate an Easter of eternal joy. Amen

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
The World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement of women of many faith traditions who come together annually to observe a common day of prayer. This year’s service is titled “Let everything that has breath praise God” and was written by the women of the Republic of Cameroon.  Please join us on Saturday, March 6, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Highway, as we offer praise to God and lift up our sisters and brothers in Cameroon and all around the world.  registration begins at 10:00 am, worship begins at 10:30 am. Everyone is welcome! Canned goods will be collected for Dare to Care. St. Peter the Apostle will be part of this Day of Prayer.
